Pilates for Cyclists taught by Jen Landells of Core Philosophy!
Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 AM beginning August 18th (through September 22nd)
Classes will be held in The Hub Incubator @ Hometown Bicycles
Whether you’re trying to get a “pedal up” on the competition or trying to find a way to ride longer and more comfortably, Pilates is an excellent exercise for cyclists!
Most of us have heard that we should strengthen our core. But what exactly does that mean? This class takes you beyond sit-ups — which, while a great exercise, really do not strengthen your core. Your core includes your whole torso, front and back, and Pilates helps you integrate that core strength to your limbs.
If you’re looking for arm and shoulder endurance, increased respiratory efficiency, and to improve your lower back flexibility and stability, this would be a great series to attend!

Meet Jen
My movement background began at an early age as a dancer. I went to Western Michigan University where I was introduced to Pilates in the dance department. After discovering kinesiology and movement science, I changed paths and earned my degree in Exercise Science. After graduation, I found the perfect way to combine the two passions by completing my full Level 2 certification in STOTT PILATES.
After many years of teaching in Michigan and northern Florida, I decided to take my teaching career to the next level and become part of Balanced Body’s team of faculty trainers in 2011.
Then, in 2012, I completed the requirements to earn my Post-rehabilitation conditioning specialist certification from STOTT PILATES.
I have worked with all levels of clients from beginners and post-rehabilitation to Olympic hopeful figure skaters, professional dancers and NFL football players. I love the challenge of working with a wide range of fitness levels and abilities. It is so exciting to be able to help someone reach their goals. Either after surgery or an injury, in competition, or just to simply feel stronger and more balanced in daily life.
