Hometown Bicycles LLC is expanding! The past five months have been FUN. It’s given us a chance to really find our niche in the cycling community, and we see it on a day to day basis with the customers that come into this store again and again. Plus, 781 bicycle repairs in 112 days… that’s not too shabby!

We just want to take a few minutes to tell you about the stuff that’s coming up over the next month:

Bicycle Sales and Our New Home: Hometown has been getting more heavily into bicycle sales. Although we haven’t kept a lot of bicycles in stock, we’ve had tremendous success with the Jamis and Scott bikes that we carry. They just about sell themselves!

As time goes by, we’re looking at stocking more and more bikes, but most of the bicycles you’re going to see will be coming in after our trip to the September Interbike Show. (More on that in a moment.)

Where will we put all our new stock? In our new home!

We’ve made our move on the building next door, and will be opening our Hometown Bicycles LLC bicycle retail shop next spring. It has been talked about for a while, but now it’s officially happening!  Our entire operation is growing to 3,500 square feet of fun bike stuff, including our own separate Fit Room and Upgrade Center (the only one in town, we might add).

Bike we donated to Tour de Livingston

So, if you’re thinking about a new bike, come in and get fitted. Let’s make this happen!

Tour De Livingston: The Hometown bicycle donation for the 2010 Tour de Livingston on 10/10/10 is a cool new Jamis Earth Cruiser. Look for the below graphic around town, attached to the handlebars of a Pink Jamis cruiser bike, with – by popular demand, via Hometown’s Facebook Poll – whitewall tires.

Interbike 2010: We have worked very hard this first year at the shop. Alex and I have put in a lot of hours doing what we love and maintaining why we launched the shop in the first place: to be YOUR BIKE SHOP. As a reward for all of our hard work, Alex, Joe, Matt and myself are going to Vegas. But, in this case, what happens in Vegas will NOT stay in Vegas. It will come back in the form of bikes and awesome new products that will make your cycling experience amazing. Well try our best to have fun – it is a “Working Vacation” after all. But someone’s gotta do it. The shop is going to be closed for the show from Tuesday September 21st to Sunday September 26th. Join our Facebook to get the inside scoop on – and irregular updates from – the show. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding that we’re doing it for you!
