OUR WORLD’S TURNED UPSIDE-DOWN, AND WE’RE LOVING IT!
The arrival of our beautiful, little Aria resulted in a flood – actually, a tsunami – of love and food and gifts and kindness from all of you, and Shaun and I want you to know that we appreciate it!! You complete us, Hometownies!
Now prep yourselves for some serious fun as I catch you up on all the awesomeness that’s been happening at Hometown. As per our usual modus operandi, it’s been epic…

We were sad, yet proud to send off two more of our wonderful summer crew to the world of academia.
Meghan Horal, cashier extraordinaire, added a tremendous amount of value in her brief time here, and was also known for the fantastic bike jokes you read weekly on our entryway board. We wish her all the success in the world at college, and look forward to seeing her again when the weather warms!
Colin Wood has set himself some aggressive personal goals for his final year in high school, but may still make appearances throughout the winter. We’re proud of what he’s accomplishing, including how he’s killing it on the high school mountain bike team. Go, Colin!
You’ll see some new faces at Hometown over the coming weeks. Be sure to stop by and say hello to your new crew-in-training! (Positions still open!)

MILFORD LABOR DAY 30K (above): Nine of our Team riders took on the myriad challenges of Milford’s Labor Day 30K – seven of them podiumed and every single one made it into the top 5 in their age category! We knew our Team was good, but THIS absolutely blows our minds. Way to go, Team Hometown Bicycles!!
PINCKNEY STUDENTS PUT SHAUN THROUGH HIS PACES

Pinckney’s Navigator Elementary teacher, Angela Kanerva, approached us with a fantastically unique request. She asked us to show her students how bicycles consist of a mechanical system in which parts work together to achieve a functional goal. Wow, right?
So, Shaun and our Events Coordinator, Jennifer, addressed over 100 extremely curious students on the science and engineering of bicycles. It was a HUGE hit – for us as much as them! We came away inspired and hopeful about the future of cycling.
What a cool program… can’t wait to do it again! We wish we’d had you as a teacher, Angela!!
