Remember, we offer financing – 12 months no interest for purchases of $1000 and more, and 6 months no interest for anything under. Doesn’t matter what you buy – bikes, gear, goodies.

TWO LEGISLATIVE TRIUMPHS FOR MI CYCLISTS
Cyclist safety and advocacy have always been at the heart of League of Michigan Bicyclists (LMB) efforts, and they hit a double homer with their recent State House success… AND YOU ARE THE WINNER!
On March 21st, the House passed two LMB bicycle safety bills. The first requires that all drivers education classes/trainings address the laws and safety practices pertaining to cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians, and other vulnerable roadway users.
The second is the institution of a 3-foot, Statewide passing law – a compromise from the desired 5 feet lobbied for by the LMB. Still, it adds one more layer of protection for you and your fellow cyclists.
You can catch the details of these legislative triumphs on the LMB blog. Makes you feel like someone’s got your back, doesn’t it. Thank you, LMB, for fighting so passionately to keep all of us safe!
HOMETOWN’S VERSATILE RENTAL ROOM
Every now and then, I get the tickle to tell you that our Community Room is called the “Community” Room for a reason… we want you to use it!
When we’re not running our own clinics, classes, or trainings, there’s a generous 400 sq.ft. of fantastic classroom space available for YOUR use – whether that be yoga classes, adventure club meetings, Scout programs, or birthdays!
In just the past few weeks, we’ve been delighted to host:
• Sparrow Freedom Project
• Arboriculture Society of MI
• Brighton Lacrosse
• Local Homeowner’s Association
We’ve got tables, chairs, whiteboards, refrigerator/microwave access, and parking. We have a wooded trail out back and a large front lawn, in case outdoor activities play a role in your program. And let’s not forget that you’ll be at the world’s coolest bike shop!
So, whatever it is that you’re getting a group together for – pinochle or painting parties, club meetings or business conferences, story time or kids crafts – shoot us an email: events@myhometownbicycles.com. This may just turn out to be the perfect space for your get-together!
Creating the magic of Hometown is no small thing, and we don’t hire lightly, but we do offer positions that are meaningful and make a real difference in the lives of customers, our community, and the cycling industry. We currently have openings for:
Part-Time Events Coordinator
Coordinates and manages on- and off-premises shop events of all types. Must be highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, sociable, and enthusiastic.
Part-Time Personal Assistant
Combines administrative duties with personal and child care. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and excellent with children.
Full- and Part-Time Service Techs
Provides reliably outstanding technical bike service. Some technical knowledge preferred. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, focused, and a quick learner.
Full- and Part-Time Sales Associates
Provides reliably outstanding customer service, including sales, cashiering, and shop organization and cleanliness. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, sociable, enthusiastic, and a quick study.
Drop by our shop, introduce yourself, and pick up an application. You’ll never know unless you try!
SATURDAY, MAR 31 | 10:00AM (MEET BY 9:45AM) | FROM HOMETOWN
We’re headed back to Island Lake for a loop through the trails and “behind the pond”. Anticipate 10-16 miles of adventuring. Group A advanced riders will ride fast and pack in the miles. Group B intermediate riders will ride as skills determine. Come dressed for the weather. Check Facebook for Ride confirmation and changes!
