GETTING “FAT” IS FUN!
Okay, okay… cheekiness aside, fat bikes are a fantastic way to keep yourself trim and active during Michigan’s “brrr-r-r-r-r” season. These mammoth-wheeled rides turn mountains into molehills with their ground- and obstacle-devouring anatomy. Best of all, they’re designed for guys and gals of all ages, builds, and skill levels. True family fun, and that’s no joke!
ON YOUR MARK, GET SET… FAT BIKE PREORDERS BEGIN NOW!
We’ve been teasing you all October with the promise of supreme fatness and, as of today, your wish is our special order! Trust us, you don’t want to miss this early order window… you don’t want to be the one staring longingly out the window at all your fat-bound friends!
Jamis fatties will be thundering into our shop in just a few short days. And this year, we’re introducing a new, novice-friendly, economical fat bike brand to our floor – Framed Bikes. (Read more about them below.) We’ll announce the big arrivals on Facebook!

YUP, HOMETOWN IS NOW ALSO YOUR FRIENDLY, NEIGHBORHOOD FRAMED FAT BIKE DEALER
With fat bike craze sweeping the northern climes, we’re introducing one more line of fatties to round out your selection at Hometown. (I know… how can it possibly get any better, right??)
From Framed’s lips to your eyes, here’s a little insight into the brand…
“…technically sound, affordable bikes targeted to riders who demand a bike with tomorrow’s technology at a great value… Whether your purpose to pedal is to combat traffic congestion, stay healthy, be the cool kid or to lessen your environmental impact, Framed has models for all ages and riding abilities and are priced on principle, not profit. For this simple reason is why our family-owned business remains true to its vision where great bikes do not have to be expensive or complicated. We want everyone to enjoy the countless benefits of cycling.”

So, now you’ve got your fat bike (or your mountain or cross bike), and are wondering… with the days shortening, when can I put my steed through its paces? We’ve got a shop ride for that – Friday Night Lights!
Welcome to Hometown’s new nighttime adventure ride on the trails of Island Lake. Led by Team rider, Mike Dyer, this all-level, no-drop, Friday ride takes you through the Blue and Yellow trails by bike light. Ride frequency and time may vary, so check our Facebook for the latest updates.

Our Saturday (11/12) event is going to be every bit as action-packed and entertaining as its name implies! Details will come next week but, for now, here are just a handful of the highlights lined up for this fun-to-the-infinite-power event:
- Indoor art fair
- Fat bike demo
- Fat bike friendly group ride
- People’s choice chili cook-off competition (enter HERE)
- Kid-friendly craft activities
- Cardio drumming with Martha Soraruf

This year’s Brighton High School mountain bike team was, once again, a credit to our community and the sport of cycling. Every year, Hometown Bicycles is exceptionally proud to support the sportsmanship and skill of these incredible, young cyclists. They ARE the future of cycling, after all.
Coach T.J. Tyrell dropped by the other day with a “note” of thanks. Thank YOU, T.J. and the Bulldogs!
