Birthday Party POSTPONED ’til April 22

MICHIGAN’S BEEN AT IT AGAIN…
Well, Hometownies, it’s ice advisories and winter weather tomorrow, and that’s NOT compatible with a birthday bike ride and grill out!That’s ok – we can roll with it! We’ve simply moved Hometown’s 8th Birthday Bash to NEXT Sunday, April 22nd, when Michigan will have finally gotten the memo – high of 57° and partly sunny… now THAT’s what we’re talkin’ about!

BUT, if you do happen to stroll in tomorrow (4/15), you’ll get a celebratory 10% OFF YOUR ENTIRE PURCHASE(bikes/parts/accessories/special orders) PLUS a slice of birthday cake! Wonky weather or not, Hometown wanted to give you a gift anyway!

Awesomely enough, April 22nd is also Earth Day (yay for pedal-powered transportation!) AND the day after Barry Roubaix Killer Gravel Road Race, a Hometownie and Team favorite! That means our party will be the perfect opportunity to high five Ma Nature AND swap Barry stories with your fellow party peeps!

THIS SUNDAY (4/15): Eat Cake at Hometown’s 8th Birthday Party!

YOU’RE INVITED TO HOMETOWN’S 8TH-YEAR CELEBRATION!
Eight eventful years ago, we propped a hand-painted sandwich board in front of a pint-sized service shop, and called Hometown Bicycles officially “OPEN”. Fast forward eight years, and just look what you’ve helped us create, Hometownies!

That’s why we want you, a member of our Hometown family, to party hearty with us on April 15th between noon and 6pm for a day of family-friendly birthday games and prizes, presents (for you!), and a 3pm birthday bike ride with food and cake to follow! Hometown’s 8th Birthday: NOON – 6PM

GAMES, PRIZES, AND MORE SURPRISES!
What birthday party would be complete without games and prizes?? Starting at noon, you and your family will enjoy birthday game classics with a cycling twist, like “Pin the Pedal on the Bicycle”, “Tricycle Tug-of-War”, “Guess How Many”, and “Bicycle Tire Toss”. Winners take home a prize!

BIRTHDAY PRESENTS FOR YOU!!
Listen, your loyalty over the years and continuing support are truly gift enough – I mean that, Hometownies! That’s why, at THIS party, the birthday presents are for YOU! Beginning at noon, you’ll receive your very own, wrapped birthday gift with any purchase of $20 or more. (One per person while they last!)

A BIRTHDAY BIKE RIDE FOR THE BIRTHDAY BIKE SHOP!
If Hometown could talk, we know it would ask us for a birthday bike ride. That’s why our shop exists, after all – for the love of cycling! This casual road ride will leave from Hometown at 3pm (arrive by 2:45pm) for a spin around Island Lake’s famous “Green Dumpster loop”. All bikes welcome – there will be riders of all types, skills, and paces to make this fun for everyone! Just be sure to work up an appetite…

BIRTHDAY GRILL-OUT WITH A SIDE OF BIRTHDAY CAKE!
We’ll be wrapping up Hometown’s 8th-year birthday bash with food on the barbie, compliments of your appreciative bike shop. Be sure to do some post-meal vocal runs – gotta warm up those pipes for a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday to You”! Birthday cake will top it all off for those of us with a sweet tooth.

Birthday Cake, Tonight’s Artists & Hometown Across America

THIS SATURDAY: IT’S A PARTY AT HOMETOWN FOR MEMORIAL DAY & LIAM!

With Memorial Day on Monday, and our little guy’s 1st birthday just a couple days later, you KNOW we just had to celebrate with you! Here’s the scoop:

SATURDAY, MAY 28TH, 9AM – 5PM (regular hours)
FREE HOT DOGS & BIRTHDAY CAKE from 11am-2pm
NO PRESENTS! You celebrating with us is present enough!
Enjoy BIKE GAMES, like tire toss, for “Just ‘Cuz” DISCOUNTS

Please note that while our Memorial weekend hours are our usual 9am-5pm, we do close early on Memorial DAY:

TODAY!! STUDENT ARTIST OPEN HOUSE HERE

We’ve been telling you all about the wonderful, bike-geared creativity of South Lyon’s Bartlett Elementary students, featured for the month of May in Hometown’s Community Room. Now’s you’re chance to personally high-five the artists who created it!!

Refreshments will be provided and there’s no cost to attend. So, here’s the plan… get your coats on, bring your kids, and see what the inspiration of a great art teacher, a challenging assignment, and kid-powered creativity can do!

TEAM NEWS: WE’RE EVERYWHERE!

ISLAND LAKE: Team turn-out at this past weekend’s Island Lake Spring Mountain Bike Race was phenomenal, with our unmissable yellow and pink jerseys whipping through the woods en masse. Congratulations to Olga N. for rocking a 2nd Place win in Expert! And cheers to Doug Q., Justin H., John V., Joe O., Tom H., Gary S., Mark L., Mike D., Brien T., Mathew R., Leslie C., and Brian F. who also represented at this event.

David Burkhart in Team Hometown Bicycles kit at the National Long Distance Duathlon Championship in Cary, NC CARY, NC: Yep, that’s our yellow kit in North Carolina, folks, (look right) thanks to the continuing Championship efforts of David Burkhart. David won 1st Place in his age group and a National Championship Jersey at the Duathlon Long Distance Championship Race in Cary, NC. Now, he’s off to Worlds in Aviles, Spain on June 5th. Wow, David! Congrats and thanks for keeping Team Hometown so well-traveled!!

ARCADIA, MI: Jack R. flew solo for the Team at Arcadia Grit & Gravel Mountain Bike Race. We were with you in spirit, Jack… thanks for spreading the Hometown love across Michigan!

MACKINAC, MI: Tom L. took the Team colors on an epic Zoo-de-Mac ride last weekend (look left), cycling from Harbor Springs to Mackinac with jersey worn proudly. Well, we’re proud of you, too, Tom!

ALL OVER LIVINGSTON: Joe V. and Carolyn L. (below)are a picture-perfect pairing of Hometown’s colorful kits. Keep an eye out for these two brightly attired cyclists touring the roads and trails of our home town.
